DHSC invites Health Stores UK to input into national ten-year health plan

In July, after Labour won the General Election, we wrote to the incoming Government setting out our Election Checklist – ten top priorities from both business and public health perspectives, as our members see them.

This week we received a reply from the Department of Health and Social Care asking Health Stores UK to consider contributing to the Government’s ten-year plan, which will launch this autumn.

The letter states: “The huge task getting our health and social care system back on its feet is not one the Government or the NHS can undertake alone. We will need everyone, from individuals, to charities, industry and the voluntary sector to play their part. That is why we are asking you to stand ready to share your thoughts on how we build a health and social care service that’s fit for the future.”

We will certainly be taking up the invitation that the DHSC has extended, and we will keep you informed of future developments and any opportunities we have to influence future health policy.
