Health Stores UK is determined to ensure that the vital role that our sector can play in improving the health of the nation is properly understood, and benefited from, as the new Government sets about overhauling the NHS.
This month the Health Secretary, Wes Streeting, invited all stakeholders to take part in a national consultation that will shape a new 10 Year Health Plan for England.
Introducing the ‘Change NHS’ initiative, the Minister said: “We are creating a 10 year plan to fix the NHS. We can’t do this on our own. You all see at first hand when the NHS works well, and when it doesn’t. We need your ideas to help us change it. So we are inviting you to share your ideas that will help us make the NHS fit for the future.”
A Health Stores UK we encourage all stores to complete the Government’s online questionnaire directly, so that our message – that health stores offer local communities a huge range of healthy choices, and helpful nutritional and lifestyle advice – has maximum impact.
We will also be gathering and collating Members’ feedback so that we can put together a comprehensive reply on behalf of the Association (using the separate Organisation survey). Check our website for more information in the coming weeks.
